Connecting to the DareNET IRC Network is simple and straight forward. We currently offer two methods for doing so:
Chat directly from your favorite browser using the webchat client. Great for those who do not have access to an IRC client, prefer not to use a standalone client, or are behind restrictive firewalls.
Use WebChat Use WebChat (SSL enabled)
We support most known IRC clients for those who would rather connect to DareNET using a client of their choice. An exahustive list of IRC clients can be found here.
Downloading and setting up an IRC client is the preferred option for the majority of our users, though it does require a bit of effort on their part. Should you decide to go this route as well, the server you'll want to use to connect to DareNET is irc.darenet.org.
Common ports for DareNET's IRC servers are 6660 thru 6669 and 7000. SSL/TLS-enabled connections are supported on ports 6697 and 9999.
